At least 16 people, including three Afghan soldiers, were killed and more than 75 people were injured Wednesday in three Taliban attacks in Afghanistan, officials said. The militants launched an attack against a joint Polish-US military base in the eastern province of Ghazni that began with a suicide truck bombing, DPA reported. "First, an explosives-filled truck was detonated by an attacker to destroy the eastern wall of the Polish-American Provincial Reconstruction Team building on the outskirts of Ghazni city to pave the way for his friends," said Mohammad Ali Ahmadi, deputy governor of Ghazni province. Three civilians and three security personnel were killed and more than 50 civilians were injured, most of them from flying glass that was splintered in the explosion, Ahmadi said. Six to seven foreign troops were injured, he said.
