At least 16 people, including three Afghan soldiers, were killed and more than 75 people were injured Wednesday in three Taliban attacks in Afghanistan, dpa cited officials as saying. The militants launched an against a joint Polish-US military base in the eastern province of Ghazni that began with a suicide truck bombing. "First, an explosives-filled truck was detonated by an attacker to destroy the eastern wall of the Polish-American Provincial Reconstruction Team building on the outskirts of Ghazni city to pave the way for his friends," said Mohammad Ali Ahmadi, deputy governor of Ghazni province. A group of militants then attacked from the western part of the base, which brought resistance from guards and prevented the militants from entering the base, he said. Three civilians and three security personnel were killed and more than 50 civilians were injured, most of them from flying glass that was splintered in the explosion, Ahmadi said. Six to seven foreign troops were injured, he said. -- SPA 20:32 LOCAL TIME 17:32 GMT تغريد
