President Hamid Karzai is to visit Pakistan next week, the Foreign Ministry said Sunday, to discuss the stalled peace process with the Taliban and mend ties with his neighbour, dpa reported. "Afghanistan stands fully ready to engage with the new government in Pakistan," ministry spokesman Janan Mosazai said. "Our hope is that the two countries will be able to turn a new page," he added. While Mosazai did not provide the dates for the visit, local media reports said it was set for August 26-28. Pakistan has said it is ready to facilitate talks between Kabul and the Taliban. In July, Sartaj Aziz, Pakistan's national security and foreign affairs adviser, was in Kabul to discuss the process. Aziz's visit is the first by a Pakistani official since a new government was formed after May elections.
