Typhoon Utor moved away from the Philippines Tuesday, leaving two dead and more than 30,000 displaced, the civil defence office said. Utor, packing maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometres per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 195 kph, was moving towards south-eastern China at 19 kph, the weather bureau said. Eleven people were missing in the wake of the typhoon, including nine fishermen, said the Office of Civil Defence. Utor forced 31,256 residents to flee their homes, destroyed more than 1,500 houses, and cut off electricity and power in the worst hit areas in the northern province of Aurora. Damage to infrastructure and agriculture was estimated at 57.45 million pesos (1.33 million dollars), DPA reported.
