Three people were killed Thursday in France when a light aircraft crashed into a field in the Massif Central region, the local newspaper La Montagne reported. The accident took place in the foothills of a volcanic hill near Vertaizon, about 20 kilometres east of the city of Clermont-Ferrand, the paper reported. A photograph on the website of La Montagne showed wreckage strewn across the field, according to DPA.
