U.S. stocks closed barely moved Tuesday, as investors cautiously awaited the latest from the Federal Reserve (Fed) and Friday's monthly jobs report. The dollar gained against the pound but fell versus the euro and the yen. Light sweet crude oil for September delivery dropped $1.47 to $103.08 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures lost $4.40 to $1,324.00 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 1.38, or 0.01 percent, to 15,520.59. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.63, or 0.04 percent, to 1,685.96. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index moved up 17.33, or 17.33 percent, to 3,616.47.
