U.S. stocks closed slightly higher Monday, as the Dow moved up and technology shares continued to lift the Nasdaq. The dollar rose against the euro, but fell versus the pound and the yen. Light sweet crude oil for May delivery gained 75 cents to $88.76 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures moved up $25.60 to $1,421.20 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average gained 19.66, or 0.14 percent, to 14,567.17. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index moved up 7.25, or 0.47 percent, to 1,562.50. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 27.49, or 0.86 percent, to 3,233.55.
