The United States called the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks scheduled to begin in Washington on Monday a "natural first step of the peace process." "We will play an active role, as has already been evident, in facilitating the dialogue and discussions," State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki said during the daily press briefing.
