Jordanian King Abdullah II has met with a delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives and discussed the ongoing efforts to achieve peace in the region as well as the Syrian crisis. King Abdullah II said Jordan will continue supporting the efforts aimed at reviving the peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis to discuss all final status issues, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative. On Syria, King Abdullah II expressed his concern over developments in the neighboring country, stressing the need to end violence and arrive at a comprehensive political solution that ends bloodshed and preserves Syria's unity.
