At least four persons were killed and nine injured in two separate explosions in the Pakistani city of Karachi this evening. A security official said four persons were slain and one injured in an explosion that took place in an apartment in a residential building in Patil Para district of Karachi, noting that the security forces cordoned the scene to collect evidence and hold investigation into the accident as victims were rushed to hospitals. Just a short time before, eight people were injured in an explosion that targeted a senior government official's car in Isa neighborhood in Karachi. The police said an explosive device planted by unknowns on a motorbike went off as the car of Mitant Ali Khan of the Municipality of Karachi was passing by. He was injured in the incident in addition to four of his companions and three passersby.
