A heavy explosion in the centre of Mexico's capital Friday killed one person and injured two others, DPA quoted authorities as saying. The blast occurred near Mexico City's department of public security. Authorities could not give many details on the cause of the incident, but the city's head of civil protection, Elias Moreno Brizuelas, said it involved an "explosive device." The blast damaged nearby buildings and three cars and police cordoned off the area. The identity of the victims was not immediately revealed. Police were investigating whether the bomber may have been the one who died in the blast.
