Quds City, Ramadan 9, 1434, Jul 18, 2013, SPA - The Israeli army arrested early Thursday several people from the town of Izzarieh, east of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), including five minors, according to residents. They said soldiers in 20 army vehicles carried out a pre-dawn raid on the town, searched several homes and arrested the five minors, aged 15 and 16 years, in addition to three other people, including one arrested as hostage until his son turns himself in. Confrontations broke out between residents and the soldiers who fired tear gas and stun grenades at the people causing serious cases of suffocation, particularly among children in the neighborhood, according to a report of the State of Palestine News and Information Agency "WAFA." Meanwhile in Bethlehem, south of Al-Quds, undercover soldiers arrested an 18-year-old resident of the city after raiding his home. Soldiers also arrested a 45-year-old man from the village of Taqoa, east of Bethlehem, after raiding his home.
