Austria: EU negotiations on Syria arms embargo failed

EU attempts to reach a common position on its
arms embargo for Syria have failed, dpa quoted Austrian Foreign Minister Michael
Spindelegger as saying Monday, during a pause in discussions.
The negotiations, which were due to resume at 10 pm (2000 GMT),
were "no longer about finding a new solution," Spindelegger said.
"The sanctions regime falls with June 1," he added.
