At least 19 people were killed when a bus fell into a canal in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh, a news report said Monday. According to dap, twenty-two more passengers were rescued and moved to hospital after the accident in the Etah district late on Sunday night, the IANS news agency reported. The death toll was likely to rise as there were about 58 passengers travelling in the state-run bus and search operations were continuing for the 17 others, senior officials told the news agency. Injured passengers told the police that the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake a truck.
