The United States "strongly condemns" the violence in Iraq over the past several days and is "deeply concerned" by the frequency and nature of the attacks, the White House said Monday. "The targeting of innocent people in an effort to sow instability and division is reprehensible," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters. "Our condolences go out to the victims of these attacks and to their families."
