Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, chaired here Monday afternoon a session of the Cabinet. The Minister of Culture and Information, Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, in a statement to Saudi Press Agency after the meeting, said that the Cabinet considered a report on the consultations, discussions and communications, which took place during the week with a number of leaders of brotherly and friendly countries and their envoys, on bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in various fields. The cabinet also considered a report on the course of events and developments in the region and the world and the international community's efforts toward them, the minister said. The minister added that the Cabinet expressed appreciation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for what was expressed by Chinese President Xi Jinping toward relations with the Kingdom and the desire to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Kingdom to maintain stability and peace in the region and the president's expressed interest and commitment to promote peace talks and political solutions for many issues. The Cabinet welcomed the approval of the General Assembly of the United Nations of an Arab resolution condemning the escalation of violence and killings in Syria, and the contents of the resolution condemning the Syrian authorities' continued commitment of serious violations of human rights against the Syrian people.
