The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Salam Palace here today. At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the contacts, consultations and discussions that took place during last week with a number of leaders of brotherly and friendly countries and their envoys on bilateral relations and the latest developments at regional, Arab and international arenas, lauding the relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and these countries that benefit the common interest and enhance international security and stability. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said the Cabinet reviewed the Arab and international efforts and stances towards the events in the region and the continuing deterioration in Syria, and stressed the statement issued by the extraordinary Arab League foreign ministers meeting held in Qatar. The statement called upon the UN Security Council to immediately take all necessary measures to provide protection for Syrian civilians and impose a complete cessation of violence, bloodshed and crimes committed against the Syrian people. Dr. Khoja added that the Cabinet discussed the Kingdom's participations in a number of international forums and conferences, stressing what has been stated in the Kingdom's speeches at those meetings regarding various issues at the international arena, including the Kingdom's aspiration to spread understanding and dialogue on mutual respect among peoples and civilizations in order to build global peace, harmony and stability away from the use of force and violence in resolving disputes between states. The Cabinet valued highly the contents of the address of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the 2nd meeting of the Advisory Board of United Nations Counter Terrorism Center which was held under the patronage of the King in Jeddah yesterday. The address reflected the Kingdom's recognition that the fight against terrorism is a joint international responsibility requiring the highest degree of coordination and cooperation among members of the international community. --More
