U.S. stocks closed mixed Monday, although they still remain near record highs. The dollar gained ground against the euro, the pound, and the yen. Light sweet crude oil for June delivery dropped 87 cents to $95.17 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold futures lost $2.30 to $1,434.30 an ounce. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 26.81, or 0.18 percent, to 15,091.68. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.07, or 0.00 percent, to 1,633.77. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index gained 2.21, or 0.06 percent, to 3,438.79.
