Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Shiekh, Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met here today with the Speaker of Ethiopia's Federal Assembly Kasa Tekly Burhan to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them as well as bilateral parliamentary relations. During the meeting, which was attended by Saudi ambassador to Ethiopia Abdulbaqi Ajlan, the Ethiopian official said relations between Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia were deep-rooted, historic and deserve our keenness to preserve them in the best shape ever. We are not going to allow any difference between the two countries to take place, he said, adding that it is hoped that relations would receive a strong boost forward. He said the Ethiopian government is aware of the importance of relations with the Kingdom and believes that the Kingdom's political and economic leverage would help Ethiopia's drive for development as well as peace in the African horn. Ethiopia puts development as first priority since 1991 when it forged a policy based on mutual respect and interest with partners, first of whom comes Saudi Arabia, he concluded. --More 20:06 LOCAL TIME 17:06 GMT تغريد
