Russian police said four militants have been killed in two clashes in Dagestan, AP reported. Fatina Ubaidatova, a spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry, which controls Russia's police, said three militants were killed Thursday when police blocked a group of fighters in a wooded area near Gubden, about 60 kilometers (35 miles) south of the republic's capital Makhachkala. Another fighter was killed after police trapped him in a house in the village of Shamkhal-Yangiurt 30 kilometers (20 miles) north of the capital.
