Presided over by its Speaker Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Majlis Al-Shura reviewed at its 18th ordinary session held here today a study on changing Saudi Arabia's weekend for governmental bodies from Thursday and Friday to Friday and Saturday. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Fahad bin Mu'tad Al-Hamad, Assistant Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura, said the members discussed this proposal from its religious, social and economic aspects, drawing the attention that the Shura Council's consent has confirmed conducting a study that tackles all those aspects and others to identify the advantages and disadvantages of this change. Majlis Al-Shura also discussed the importance of tackling the status of the State's civil employees who are suffering from late promotions financially and functionally. Several reports were also reviewed by the Shura Council.
