Presided over by its Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Majlis Ashura held its 68th ordinary session in Riyadh today. In a statement following the meeting, Dr. Fahhad bin Mu'tad Alhamad, Assistant Speaker of the Council, said the meeting listened and discussed a number of reports including the performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The council approved a six-para draft agreement on political bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Union of Switzerland. The meeting said there is some difference of views between the Shura Council and the Cabinet on the amendment of some articles of the Criminal System on Forgery Crimes which was returned to the Shura Council for review. The relevant committee submitting the system said 19 out of 30 articles of the system were agreeable by the two chambers with differences to be seen on the other 12 articles. The system will be discussed further in a later session, Alhamad said. A report on the performance of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the fiscal year 1430/1431 H. was discussed. It will also be discussed in a later meeting. The Shura Council discussed a draft bill on the application and updating of the Saudi Building Code.
