At least six people were killed by a suicide bomb attack on a senior police officer in north-western Pakistan on Friday, health and security officials said. The bomber blew himself up as a convoy carrying Frontier Constabulary chief Abdul Majeed Khan Marwat passed through the centre of Peshawar, an official told dpa on condition of anonymity. "Our commandant survived the attack unhurt but some members of his security detail suffered injuries," the official said. Six people were killed and at least 10 injured in the blast, according to the staff at the state-run Lady Reading Hospital. The dead included two woman passers-by and two policemen. "The attacker was riding a bicycle and explosives strapped to his body weighed at least 10 kilogrammes," senior police officer Noman Faisal said.
