The 4th GCC-EU Economic Dialogue will start its works in Brussels Tuesday to discuss ways to expand bilateral economic cooperation. A number of experts from the GCC ministries of finance, economy and trade, central banks, capital market and investment authorities; and the EU officials from the European Commission and the European Central Bank will take part in the session. Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Ouwaisheq, the Assistant Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Negotiations Affairs and Strategic Dialogues, said that the economic dialogue with the European Union aims to discuss the overall economic policies as part of implementation of the Joint Action Program (2010-2013) between the GCC countries and the European Union. He added that the GCC-EU Economic Dialogue this year will address latest economic developments in the countries of GCC and the European Union, reformation of financial and banking sectors after the financial crisis and latest developments of the Eurozone crisis. The 3rd GCC-EU Economic Dialogue took place in the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh in June 2011. It discussed the Eurozone crisis, the Greek bailout and the financial controls endorsed by the EU in order to boost the EU unified currency, according to a report of Qatar News Agency (QNA).
