The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and the European Union (EU) have concluded their third economic dialogue at the headquarters of GCC General Secretariat here, within the framework of the joint cooperation agreement between the two sides in accordance with what had been agreed in the joint work plan between them. From the European side, a number of experts and senior officials from the European Commission and European Central Bank have participated in the dialogue in addition to representatives from the GCC ministries of finance, monetary institutions, central banks and Secretariat General as well as representatives from the embassies of EU member countries in Saudi Arabia. The GCC-EU third economic dialogue discussed the latest economic developments in the GCC member countries and monetary policies in the EU, especially the impact of sovereign debt crisis in Greece on the European economy and its implications in other areas, in addition to the impact of this crisis on the Europe's single common currency, the Euro.
