Newly-elected Arab Women Organization Secretary General Dr. Sheikha Saif Al-Shamsi arrived in Cairo today to assume office. Replacing Dr. Wadoda Badran of Egypt who governed the organization for the last eight years, Al-Shamsi was elected unanimously at the latest Supreme Council of the organization's meeting in Algiers. Al-Shamsi of the United Arab Emirates won the elections after all would-be rivals withdrew their candidatures. She will make her foreign debut at Doha Arab Economic and Social Council conference on 21 March, 2013 and the forthcoming Arab summit in Doha, Qatar, on 26 March 2013.
