The Muslim World League's Global Commission for Introducing the Messenger (May the Prayer and Peace of Allah be upon him) issued a statement today in response to the intention of one of the media organs in Iran to produce a film embodying the person of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him). The statement said that the representation of the Prophet (PBUH), is a great vice and evil and undermines and prejudices his stature. The statement added that this work is highly prohibited because portrayal of the Prophet (PBUH) and representing his role in movies and soap operas are inconsistent with the reverence for him (PBUH). It added that these constitute an excuse to disregard him and a gateway for mockery of him (PBUH), and the revelation from the Almighty Allah. The statement emphasized the responsibility of the Iranian government to stop this abuse of the Prophet (PBUH).
