Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu met in New York yesterday with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon. Prof. Ihsanoglu explained to the U.N. Secretary General the outcome of the 12th Islamic Summit, held recently in Cairo and the latest developments relating to issues in the region, particularly decisions about the Palestinian issue and the Israeli settlements, and the call of the Conference of Donors for Al-Quds. The talks also dealt with the situation in Syria, and the latest political developments there, as well as the course of events in Mali, and the efforts of the two organizations to support the stability and territorial integrity of Mali, in addition to the existing relations between the OIC and the United Nations and the joint projects between the two sides.
