Faisal said that the draft resolution adopting the Riyadh Declaration issued by the international conference for healthy lifestyles and non-communicable diseases in the Arab world is before the ministers at their meeting today as a platform of action to which member states adhere to address these diseases with mandating the technical secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of health to follow up the implementation of the recommendations of the declaration. The Minister of Foreign Affairs added that it is important to involve concerned government institutions, non-governmental organizations and academic institutions in national efforts to curb the spread of non-communicable diseases in the Arab world in order to reduce the factors leading to these diseases. At the end of his speech, Prince Saud Al-Faisal welcomed the ministers participating in the preparatory meeting, and wished the summit all success in activating the joint Arab action.
