The General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) concluded its 40th conference here today where a final statement was issued. The Director General of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Abdullah Bin Fahd Al Hussain, represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the conference. The final statement said that the decisions taken at the conference was characterized by clarity and specialization in media and its march in the Arab countries. The decisions also aimed to activate the role of news agencies, which are the main sources of news and information in the Arab countries, the final statement added. It also pointed out that Manama conference witnessed a thorough discussion on the 4th World Conference of News Agencies to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in November 2013, the first global media conference ever held in an Arab country, stressing that its media results will be reflected positively on all Arab News Agencies. The two-day Manama conference has also taken a number of decisions concerning future activities, courses, seminars and collaboration with other news agencies.
