Quds city (JERUSALEM), Safar 5, 1434, Dec 18, 2012, SPA - Israeli police Tuesday at dawn arrested a number of Palestinians after raiding Al-Issawiya village, north of Al-Quds city, said witnesses. They told Palestine News and Information Agency "WAFA" that Israeli police raided the village and broke into the houses, arresting a number of Palestinians who were transferred to a Compound for interrogation. They said that Israeli helicopters are still hovering over the village with security surveillance around the clock. The village is witnessing daily clashes between the police and the Palestinian residents, who have been protesting in solidarity with striking prisoner Samer Issawi. Al-Issawi has been on an open-ended hunger strike for about 142 days to protest his administrative detention without any charge or trial.
