Quds (Jerusalem), Rabi'I 29, 1433, Feb 21, 2012, SPA - Israeli police Tuesday arrested a Palestinian resident of East Al-Quds from his hospital bed, according to family members. They said Israeli police raided the house of Munther Obaid in the East Al-Quds neighborhood of Issawiya, looking for his son, Kathem, who was getting treatment in a nearby Hospital. The Israeli Police went to the hospital and arrested Obaid, said the father, adding that his son has just been released from Israeli jails, according to a report of Palestine News and Information Agency "WAFA". The Israeli Police had raided several other homes in Issawiya and arrested at least one other resident, said local sources. Others who were not found at home were left with summons to appear at the police station for questioning. It is believed the arrests had to do with the latest protests in the neighborhood against Israeli plans to take over an area of land to expand nearby settlements.
