The White House said Tuesday that it is important to prepare for all scenarios in Syria, a day after U.S. President Barack Obama warned Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad against using chemical weapons in the conflict there. "Our position on that issue has not changed, but we think it is important to prepare for all scenarios," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters. "Contingency planning is the responsible thing to do, and we are also actively consulting with friends and allies and the opposition on this issue, but we continue to believe that a political resolution is the best resolution in Syria."
