A bomb exploded outside the home of a Greek judge in Athens on Thursday, causing extensive damage to nearby buildings and cars but no injuries, dpa quoted radio reports as saying. Police believe the blast, which took place in the suburb of Halandri, may have been related to the case of a kidnapping of Greek shipping magnate Pericles Panagopoulos. He was kidnapped in January 2009 and held for eight days until his family paid a ransom. Eighteen people were convicted in the organised crime trial and were given sentences from seven years to life.
