AlHijjah 23, 1433, Nov 8, 2012, SPA -- Suicide truck bomb struck a paramilitary compound in southern Pakistan early Thursday, killing two soldiers and wounding more than 20 people, dpa cited officials as saying. The driver detonated his bomb after ramming a gate of the Rangers headquarters in the central Nazimabad district of Pakistan's largest city of Karachi. "Twenty-one Rangers personnel have been wounded and two of them died in hospital," Sindh Rangers spokesman Major Sibtain Rizvi said by phone. One soldier was still in critical condition, he said. The injured included a police officer and a civilian who were passing the tightly-guarded complex. "Several quarters inside the complex collapsed while some adjacent buildings sustained damage because of the sheer impact of the blast," Karachi Deputy Police Chief Tariq Odho said. Bomb-disposal experts estimated the truck was carrying up to 150 kilogrammes of explosives, Odho said. The explosives were concealed under vegetables, one of the injured soldiers, who identified himself by one name, Anwar, was quoted as saying by Geo News channel.
