AlHijjah 21, 1433, Nov 6, 2012, SPA -- A lecture on the cultural and trade ties between India and the Kingdom was held here Monday evening in the presence of Indian ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hamid Ali Rao. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Inayat Ali Zaidi, a professor of Indian History within the Indian Cultural Week at King Fahd Cultural Centre in Riyadh. During the event, Saudi-Indian ties were highlighted. For his part, the Indian ambassador spoke about the historic relationship between the two countries, adding that the economic, social and cultural ties have further deepened this relationship with the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to India in 2006 and the visit of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2010. The ambassador disclosed that economic and trade relations have registered a marked growth as the volume of bilateral trade now totals US$ 37 billion.
