AlHijjah 19, 1433, Nov 4, 2012, SPA -- Medical tests conducted in specialized laboratories inside and outside the Kingdom have confirmed that a Saudi citizen, who reported at a hospital in Riyadh, was proven to have contracted Corona virus, the Ministry of Health announced in a statement today. "After having proved positive as Corona virus, the sample was also sent to a specialized laboratory outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirming that the results are positive. The patient has not left Riyadh Region," the statement added. Upon the discovery of the infection, the Ministry of Health took precautionary measures to treat this case in accordance with the scientific and medical norms and the WHO guidelines. The MoH pointed out that the patient received appropriate treatment and showed symptoms of recovery, adding that his health condition is reassuring and does not cause worry. The MoH confirmed that it is constantly following developments in this regard at national, regional and international levels in coordination with the concerned authorities and international health bodies, stressing that the ministry is exerting efforts to ensure health safety of all citizens and expatriates.
