AlHijjah 8, 1433, Oct 24, 2012, SPA -- Speaker of the Canadian Senate Noel Cancela stressed the importance of parliamentary relations between the Canadian Senate and the Saudi Shoura Council in particular and the legislatures of the Gulf Cooperation Council states in general. This came during a reception held by the speaker in honor of Secretary General of the Shoura Council Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Amro, the head of the delegation of the Council in the General Assembly meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union at its 127th session currently being held in the city of Quebec, Canada, and heads of delegations of legislative councils of the GCC participating in the meetings. Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Canada Osama bin Ahmed al-Sanusi attended the reception. In a speech during the reception, Secretary General of the Shoura Council expressed hope for boosting relations and constructive cooperation between the Shoura Council and the Canadian Senate to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries.
