Speaker of Shoura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh received here today Dr. Noël A. Kinsella, the Speaker of the Canadian Senate, and his accompanying delegation within the framework of their official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lasting for several days. Sheikh Dr. Abdullah held talks with the Speaker of the Canadian Senate and his accompanying delegation and stressed the depth of the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries in the political, economic, cultural and educational fields. He also lauded the parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the Canadian Parliament. The Speaker of the Canadian Senate valued the great efforts exerted by the man of peace, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his hard work towards achieving peace, security, stability and prosperity for all peoples of the world and his humanitarian initiative for dialogue among followers of religions and civilizations. He praised the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Canada. During the meeting, both sides discussed issues of common interest between the two countries and reviewed cooperation in the political, economical and social fields. They also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, education, development, investment and exchange of educational experiences and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Shura Council and the Canadian Parliament. The Speaker of the Canadian Senate was briefed on the Shura Council. On the other hand, Saudi-Canadian Parliamentary Friendship Committee of Al-Shura Council led by Eng. Osamah held here today a meeting with the Speaker of the Canadian Senate. During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest in the political, economical, social, cultural and educational fields.
