AlQa'dah 24, 1433, Oct 10, 2012, SPA -- Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states' ministers of culture recommended, as they concluded their 18th session here today, reactivation of a number of joint cultural activities on their agenda, among them is adopting a proposal made by the Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohiddin Khoja asking GCC fellow-member states to take part in the ceremony and celebrations of Madinah as it has been nominated as the Capital of Islamic Culture for the Year 2013. They recommended also, GCC fellow-members to follow suit of an expample set by Saudi Arabia in electronic interlinkage among cultural institutions and national libraries as well as establishin databases for cultural workers and submitting it to the Secretariat General of the GCC to generalize it among member states. -- More
