Jama'an and Raja'a A'lim were among a group of people honored for contributions to art and culture at the 17th meeting of GCC heritage and culture ministers here, Thursday. Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Khoja said that GCC ministers of culture agreed to increase the number of honorees to three from each member state, instead of two. The meeting discussed issues and recommendations to be submitted to GCC leaders. Dr. Khoja said that the ministers reviewed very important issues including the cultural strategy between member states and aspects of further cooperation with intellectuals from Europe, Asia, Russia and China. He said that the ministers discussed a proposal for organizing cultural forums in these countries. He welcomed his GCC counterparts to their next meeting in Riyadh.
