AlQa'dah 20, 1433, Oct 6, 2012, SPA - The Turkish army shot back after a mortar shell fired from Syria landed in southern Turkey, the Anatolian news agency reported on Saturday. It said the shell exploded late Friday in a field along the border in the Hatay province, causing no casualties, according to DPA. It was the second such incident in the last five days. The Turkish army launched retaliatory strikes inside Syria this week after five Turkish civilians were on Wednesday killed by shells fired from Syria. The attack prompted the Turkish parliament to approve military operations inside Syria.
