AlQa'dah 4, 1433, Sep 20, 2012, SPA -- The space shuttle Endeavour departed atop a transport airplane from a Houston, Texas airport Thursday, continuing its journey to retirement in southern California, where it will be put on permanent display in a museum. Along the way, Endeavour will pass low over several locations, including Tucson, Arizona, the home of the last person to fly a shuttle, retired astronaut Mark Kelly. The shuttle is scheduled to stop at Biggs Army Airfield in El Paso, Texas before heading to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA's) Dryden Flight Research Center in California. After spending a night there, the spacecraft will fly to Los Angeles on Friday. On Thursday's flight, the shuttle will fly low over the Texas cities of Houston and Austin, the NASA White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico, and finally, Tucson.
