AlQa'dah 4, 1433, Sep 20, 2012, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has called for supporting the right to access safe drinking water as it reviewed in the two United Nations (UN) reports relating to fighting poverty and the right of access to safe drinking water, Saudi Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Abdulwahab Attar said here today. During his participation in an interactive dialogue session held by the UN Human Rights Council on fighting poverty and the right of access to safe drinking water in Geneva, Attar said that the two reports highlighted the challenges facing the international community in this field. He added that the Kingdom has waived the debts of poor countries worth more than $6 billion, in addition to donating a sum of $ 500 million for the World Food Program (WFP).
