AlQa'dah 04, 1433, September 20, 2012, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has lauded the statement issued by Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to enhance human rights in Bahrain whereas the government of Bahrain has accepted 143 UN-sponsored recommendations out of 176. In remarks before last night's session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Dr. Abdulwahab Attar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the host country and its permanent representative to the Geneva-based United Nations, said the views of Bahrain on the comprehensive periodical review report on the situation in Bahrain, issued by the Human Rights Council, embodies the keenness of Bahrain to deal positively with the Council's mechanisms as Bahrain has accepted most of the recommendations, including those from Saudi Arabia. He added that Bahrain has repeatedly shown cooperation with all measures and mechanisms emanating from the Human Rights System, an affiliate of the United Nations and met all its provisions. He said the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia lauds those efforts and supports those achievements, calls for their continuation, particularly the efforts exerted by the government of Bahrain for sustained stability and development.
