Jamal bin Omer, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations today expressed satisfaction of the United Nations and the UN Security Council over the progress of the implementation of the Gulf Cooperation Council initiative and its executive mechanism for Yemen. In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency, Omer said that during his forthcoming visit to Sanaa he would get acquainted to the preparations for Yemen National Dialogue Conference which receives great attention by the world community and the countries sponsoring the GCC initiative. To this effect, he lauded the commitment of the Yemeni parties to implement the GCC initiative for Yemen according to its executive mechanism and the UN Security Council resolution No. 2014, noting that he would assess this commitment and forward a report in this regard to the UN Security Council in its coming meeting on Yemen.
