Mauritania has extradited Moamer Gaddafi's intelligence chief, Abdullah al-Senussi, to Libya, Tripoli confirmed on Wednesday. Libyan Prime Minister Abdulrahim al-Keib said that his country appreciated "cooperation" from Mauritania on handing over al-Senussi, one of Gaddafi's confidants. "I call on all other countries sheltering wanted officials (from the Gaddafi regime) to hand them over to Libya where they will have air trials conforming to Islamic principles and international criteria for human rights," he told reporters in the Libyan capital Tripoli. Al-Senussi's extradition came a day after a Libyan delegation led by the ministers of justice and finance arrived in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott. The Mauritanian government disclosed the handover in a statement broadcast via state media without giving details.
