An ambush of a police vehicle column in Russia's violence-prone Caucasus region killed six officers on Wednesday, the Interfax news agency reported. According to dpa, the attack took place in the territory of Ingushetia, some 1,000 kilometres south of the capital Moscow. Assailants set off a bomb as an armored personnel carrier operated by Interior Ministry paramilitary was driving on a rural road. Attackers also used automatic weapons to fire on survivors. One more man was reportedly injured and hospitalized.
