More than 200,000 Syrians have fled the conflict for neighbouring countries, the United Nations agency for refugees (UNHCR) said Friday. The sharp rise from 170,116 to 202,512 in one week was a result of a decision by the UN high commissioner for refugees to include unregistered Syrians at a refugee camp in Jordan. The Jordanian government on Friday called on the international community to increase its support for displaced Syrians, as it grapples with a refugee influx that it says has passed 2,000 persons per day, according to a report of DPA. "The number of Syrians crossing into Jordan are rising each day and so are the burdens that Jordan is carrying," government spokesman Samih Maaytah said.
