Japanese shares extended gains Friday for the second consecutive trading day after overnight rallies on Wall Street and as a weaker yen helped lift export-linked stocks. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 69.74 points, or 0.77 per cent, to end at 9,162.5 while the broader-based Topix index was up 6.69 points, or 0.88 per cent, at 765.81. For the week, the Nikkei rose 3.05 per cent and the Topix was up 2.55 per cent, according to a report of DPA.
